The bottom line
Vagaro lists $30 a month for one calendar, and each calendar you add is $10. In-person cards cost 2.6% + 10¢ while you take under $4,000 a month. Above that, Vagaro lists 2.29% + 19¢ plus a $10 monthly fee.
A solo stylist taking $3,000 a month in 50 payments pays about $113 a month all in, by our math. The catches are a promo price that ends after 6 months, a 6¢ charge on every Tap to Pay sale, and no published online rate.

Who it’s for
- Salons, spas and similar businesses that want booking and payments together. Vagaro says every plan includes payments, a “Free credit card reader*”, calendar and resource management, and SOAP notes.
- Teams that will grow. Vagaro says that once you reach seven calendar licenses, you can add more employees at no extra cost.
- Owners who want add-ons in one place. Text marketing, forms, a website, a branded app and payroll are all listed add-ons.
Who should skip it
- Businesses that take many online payments. Vagaro doesn’t publish its online card rate.
- Owners who type in a lot of cards. Keyed-in payments cost 3.5% + 19¢.
- Anyone who uses Tap to Pay for most sales. Each one adds 6¢ on top of the card rate.
The catch
The $23.99 price is a promo. Vagaro calls it an “Exclusive rate for the first 6 months.” The list price is $30.
Your rate changes with your volume. Under $4,000 a month you pay 2.6% + 10¢. Over $4,000 you pay 2.29% + 19¢ and a $10 monthly fee. By our math, the higher cents fee means the bigger tier costs more per sale on tickets under about $29.
Tap to Pay costs extra on both tiers. Vagaro lists “+6¢ per Tap to Pay transaction.”
The PayPro price conflicts. The product card says “$750 or $0 due today with Vagaro Capital.” The FAQ on the same page says “PayPro is $380.” Ask for the price in writing.
“Exclusions apply” to cancelling. Vagaro doesn’t spell out the exclusions on the page we checked.
What it costs at your size
These are estimates. They use Vagaro’s published list prices and assume every payment is a card dipped or tapped in person, with no Tap to Pay.
Example 1: solo stylist, $3,000 a month, 50 payments.
- Rate: 2.6% × $3,000 = $78
- Per-sale fee: 50 × 10¢ = $5
- Software, 1 calendar: $30
- Estimated total: $113 a month, or about $106.99 during the first 6 months at the promo price
Example 2: 3-calendar salon, $10,000 a month, 160 payments.
- Rate: 2.29% × $10,000 = $229
- Per-sale fee: 160 × 19¢ = $30.40
- Processing tier fee: $10
- Software, 3 calendars: $30 + $10 + $10 = $50
- Estimated total: $319.40 a month, an effective rate of about 3.2%
If those 160 payments were all Tap to Pay, add 160 × 6¢ = $9.60. Check your own month in the fee calculator.
