The short answer: standard transfers to your bank are free. An instant transfer costs 0.5% to 2.5% of the amount (at least $0.25 to $1.00, never more than $75), so cashing out $100 instantly costs $0.50 to $2.50. A Cash App Business account pays 2.6% + $0.15 on each payment: a $100 sale leaves you $97.25.

Instant transfer fee: what cashing out costs

Cash App doesn’t publish one instant rate. It publishes a range, 0.5% to 2.5%, and shows your exact fee before you confirm. The standard transfer is free and takes 1-3 business days.

Instant transfer fee by amount, lowest to highest possible
Cash outInstant feeLands in your bank
$20$0.25 to $1.00$19.00 to $19.75
$100$0.50 to $2.50$97.50 to $99.50

$5,000$25.00 to $75.00$4,925.00 to $4,975.00

The $75 maximum only matters on large transfers: at the top rate it kicks in from $3,000. If you can wait a few days, the free transfer saves the whole fee.

Cash App Business account fees

Selling goods or services on Cash App means a Business account. Opening one is free. Each payment then costs 2.6% + $0.15 when the customer pays from their Cash App, or 3% when you take it with Tap to Pay. The fee comes out before the money reaches your balance.

To receive a set amount, charge a little more. The fee is a share of the full payment, so the price is (amount you want + $0.15) ÷ (1 − 0.026):

What to charge on a Cash App Business account

$50$51.49$51.55
$100$102.83$103.10

Sole proprietors have a free option today. Cash App’s Earn in P2P feature lets an individual take payments for goods and services in a personal account, and Cash App says it does not currently charge for it. Cash App reserves the right to add a fee with notice. An LLC or any other registered business can’t use it and needs a Business account.

Sending money

Sending from your Cash App balance, debit card or bank is free. Sending with a credit card costs 3%, added to what you pay: $103.00 to send $100. The person you pay still gets the full $100.

Cash App, Venmo or PayPal for getting paid

On the same $100 payment for goods or services, here is what lands in your balance:

It is free to open. Each payment costs 2.6% + $0.15 when the customer pays from Cash App, or 3% with Tap to Pay. On a $100 payment you receive $97.25.

Can I use a personal Cash App account for my business?

Only through Earn in P2P, which is for individuals operating as sole proprietors and has no fee today. Cash App's terms say personal use does not cover payments for goods and services, and registered businesses, including single-member LLCs, need a Business account.
