No price to compare
- Built for lawn businesses only: Yardbook
- Quote only, no published price: FieldEdge, FieldPulse, ServiceTitan, Simpro, Workiz, Zuper
- No quotes, invoices or customer payments: Connecteam
Yearly estimate from each app's published prices and standard card rates, before tax. Cheapest plan that covers your people. Limited-time offers, add-ons and setup fees are not included. Apps with a missing rate or user limit are listed after the complete ones.
Next, plan by plan: Jobber pricing, Housecall Pro pricing or Jobber vs Housecall Pro.
How the calculator works
- It finds each app’s cheapest plan that covers your people. “People” means everyone who logs in, office and field. Each app counts them its own way: Jobber™ by team-size band (1, 5, 10 or 15), Housecall Pro and Kickserv by users included per plan, Tradify and Fergus per user, ServiceM8 by jobs a month, GorillaDesk by route.
- It skips plans that lack a feature you ticked. It reads which plan includes each feature from the app’s own pricing page. If the page doesn’t say, the app stays in the list with a warning, ranked after the apps that confirm it.
- It adds a year of card fees. For each way customers pay, it multiplies your invoices by the app’s published rate: percentage × average invoice + fixed fee. Bank payments use the app’s bank rate and cap. Cash and cheques cost nothing.
- It ranks by the yearly total. Apps with a complete price come first. Apps missing a card rate or user limit come next, showing only what they publish. Quote-only apps are listed with no number (FieldPulse pricing shows what one of them does publish).
What it leaves out: sales tax, setup and onboarding fees, add-ons, hardware, disputes and chargebacks, and limited-time offers (offers end; the regular price is what you’ll pay after). Payouts to us never change the order.
Check it by hand
With the defaults (5 people, 50 invoices a month at $400, all paid by card online, monthly billing), Jobber’s row works like this:
- Plan: Connect (5 users) at $199 a month, so $2,388 a year.
- Card fees: $400 × 2.9% + 30¢ = $11.90 per invoice. × 50 invoices × 12 months = $7,140 a year.
- Total: $2,388 + $7,140 = $9,528 a year.
Apps that don’t price by person
ServiceM8 charges by new jobs a month, with unlimited users on paid plans. The calculator treats each invoice as one job:
| Plan | Jobs a month | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 30 | $0/mo |
| Starter | 50 | $29/mo |
| Growing | 150 | $79/mo |
| Premium | 500 | $149/mo |
| Premium Plus | 1,500+ | $349/mo |
Past 1,500 jobs a month on Premium Plus, ServiceM8 charges 20¢ per extra job. The Free plan is for 1 user only, and over a plan’s job limit ServiceM8 gives you 7 days before you must move up.
GorillaDesk charges per route (a technician or crew with its own schedule); office users are free. Basic adds $50 a month for routes 2 and 3, then $30 for each route after that. Pro adds $50 per route. Growth adds $100 for route 2 and $50 for each route after. If you leave the routes box blank, the calculator assumes everyone but one office person runs a route.
Service Fusion includes unlimited users on every plan (Service Fusion pricing).
Monthly or yearly billing
Choose “pay for the year up front” and the calculator uses each app’s published yearly price where there is one. Where an app publishes no yearly price, it uses the monthly price and says so. Jobber’s middle option (a 1-year commitment billed monthly) is on our Jobber pricing page. Yearly plans are often non-refundable: the calculator flags the ones that say so.
Why card fees matter more than the plan
Most apps charge between 2.9% + 30¢ and 3.9% + 30¢ on online card payments. On a $400 invoice the gap between those two is $200 a month at 50 invoices. That’s why the cheapest subscription isn’t always the cheapest app. More on card fees by app.

Common questions
How much does field service software cost per year?
For a 5-person crew sending 50 invoices of $400 a month, all paid by card online, the published options we track come to roughly $8,000 to $10,500 a year including card fees. The subscription is the smaller part: card fees alone are about $7,100 to $9,500 a year.
Is this a Jobber pricing calculator?
It includes Jobber and every other app with published prices. Set your team size and it picks the Jobber plan and team-size band that covers it, then adds Jobber's card fees, and shows the same for the other apps so you can compare.
Why don't ServiceTitan, Workiz or FieldEdge show a price?
They don't publish one. ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge, FieldPulse, Zuper and Simpro quote each business after a demo. We list them without a number rather than guess.
