You work alone but need QuickBooks sync
Jobber Core doesn't sync with QuickBooks. The cheapest Jobber plan that does is Connect (1 user) at $139/mo on monthly billing. These apps include QuickBooks sync for one person for less:
- ServiceM8Visit ServiceM8 Starter$29/mo
- TradifyVisit Tradify Lite$47/mo
- KickservVisit Kickserv Start$75/mo
You're paying for a big crew
Jobber prices by team size. For 10 people the cheapest Jobber plan is Connect (10 users) at $299/mo. Apps that don't charge per person cost less at that size:
- ServiceM8Visit ServiceM8 StarterPriced by jobs per month with unlimited users on paid plans.$29/mo
- KickservVisit Kickserv RunPlans capped at 5, 10 or 20 users; online card payments cost more than in person.$149/mo
- Service FusionVisit Service Fusion StarterUnlimited users on every plan, month to month.$225/mo
Card fees eat your margin
Jobber charges 2.9% + 30¢ when a customer pays an invoice online, which is $11.90 on a $400 invoice. None of the apps we track publishes a lower online card fee on a $400 invoice, so switching apps won't cut this one.
In person, Jobber's Tap to Pay is 2.7% + 30¢ ($11.10 on $400). Lower in person: Housecall Pro at 2.59% ($10.36).
The bigger saving is bank payments: Jobber's ACH is 1%, so the same $400 invoice costs $4.00. Every app's card fees
You sell maintenance agreements
Jobber's pricing page doesn't list which plan includes maintenance or service agreements, so confirm it on a call before you buy. These apps publish the plan, cheapest for a 5-person crew first:
- ServiceM8Visit ServiceM8 Growing$79/mo
- GorillaDeskVisit GorillaDesk Pro$249/mo
- TradifyVisit Tradify Plus$305/mo
You have more than 15 people
Jobber publishes no price past 15 users ("Let's chat"). These apps publish a price for 20 people:
- ServiceM8Visit ServiceM8 Starter$29/mo
- Service FusionVisit Service Fusion Starter$225/mo
- KickservVisit Kickserv Scale$249/mo
Monthly subscription on monthly billing from each app's own pricing page, cheapest plan that covers the crew and the feature. Card fees and offers not included here.
Not leaving for a reason above?
Then Jobber™ may still be the right app, and the switch costs more than it saves. Moving means re-entering customers, rebuilding quotes and retraining the crew. Two cheaper fixes first: pay for the year up front (Jobber Core drops from $49 to $29 a month, non-refundable), and push customers to pay by bank, which cuts the fee on a $400 invoice by about two thirds. Housecall Pro alternatives
People leave Housecall Pro for three reasons, and the answer differs for each:
- Maintenance agreements are Max only ($329 a month). ServiceM8 includes them from Growing, GorillaDesk from Pro, Tradify on Plus. See the agreements list above.
- 6 or 7 people means paying for Max’s 8 users. Jobber’s 10-user Connect band is $299 a month; Service Fusion includes unlimited users from $225.
- 3.49% on Amex and business cards. Jobber publishes one card rate for all cards. Compare every app on card fees.
The full two-way comparison is in Jobber vs Housecall Pro.
Jobber vs QuickBooks
They aren’t really alternatives. QuickBooks keeps your books; Jobber runs the field side: quotes, the schedule, invoices and getting paid. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero from its Connect plan ($139 a month for one user). If you’re choosing between them because you only send a few invoices, an invoicing app may be enough; see “If you only need quotes and invoices” on our field service software guide.
Yardbook vs Jobber
Yardbook is built for lawn care and landscaping, and it is the cheaper start. Its Starter plan is free, with ads and a 1% Yardbook fee on online payments on top of Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢. Business is $34.99 a month, and Enterprise at $49.99 adds QuickBooks sync. On Jobber, Core is $49 a month for one user, and QuickBooks sync starts on Connect at $139.
The catch: Yardbook’s pricing page doesn’t say how many users each plan includes, and it is made for one trade. Jobber publishes its user limits and isn’t tied to one trade. If you mow and landscape and want QuickBooks, Yardbook is the cheaper way to get it.
QuoteIQ vs Jobber
QuoteIQ sells plans with a user allowance: Essentials is $29.99 a month for 1 user, Pro $199.99 for 4 and Elite $299.99 for 10, plus $25 a month for each extra user. QuickBooks starts on Pro. For one person who mainly quotes and invoices, Essentials costs less than Jobber Core.
The catch: QuoteIQ doesn’t publish its card rate, so you can’t compare payment fees before you sign up. Jobber publishes 2.9% + 30¢ for online card payments. Both offer a 14-day free trial.
Every app, not just Jobber’s rivals
Our field service software comparison lists all 19 apps we track with prices, user rules, card rates and contracts. Read the contract before you sign with a quote-only app: FieldPulse, for one, starts on a 12-month term you can’t cancel early.

Common questions
What is cheaper than Jobber?
For one person who needs QuickBooks sync, ServiceM8, Fergus and Tradify all include it on plans that cost less than Jobber Connect. For a crew of 10, apps that don't price per person, like ServiceM8 and Service Fusion, cost less than Jobber's 10-user band. Card fees are similar across most apps.
What are Jobber's main competitors?
Housecall Pro is the closest like-for-like rival with published prices. ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, Workiz and FieldPulse compete for larger shops but publish no prices. ServiceM8, Tradify, Fergus, Kickserv and GorillaDesk are smaller rivals with published prices.
Is Jobber better than QuickBooks?
They do different jobs. QuickBooks is accounting software; Jobber runs quotes, scheduling, invoicing and payments for field crews. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero on its Connect plan and up, so you can use both.
What are the best Housecall Pro alternatives?
Jobber is the closest alternative. If you're leaving Housecall Pro because maintenance agreements are Max only, ServiceM8 and GorillaDesk include them on lower plans. If you have 6 or 7 people and pay for 8 on Max, team-size bands or unlimited-user plans cost less.
